In this ever expanding, Enma city, with over ten thousand residents, the need for a school teaching in English was a necessity. For the purpose of good English education children travelling from early morning, to Crater, and far away locations in Aden are a common sight. Parents don’t have peace of mind until their little young ones return home, due to the prevailing uncertain, security situation in Aden. Travelling to far away locations in Aden to a school starting early morning was another drawback for the students in Enma city. Considering all these factors, our investors prudently decided to open the “Aden British International Schools”, at the most convenient location, adjoining Saad Bin Abu Waqas Mosque. We are proud to declare, that ABIS is the perfect, purpose-built school, in Aden, with spacious fully airconditioned class rooms with added ceiling fans, wide corridors, stairways, attractive large play area, and a 80 to 100 seat theater style auditorium clean and hygienic wash rooms, and uninterrupted power and water supply. Comfort and safety of students and teachers, is the priority at Aden British International Schools.
Aden British International Schools opened in September 2019, with classes from the kindergarten to grade 6, for boys and girls. Since then, each subsequent year we opened classes until the High school. Due to high demand, for admittance, we were compelled to operate two classes for each grade, as A & B from the first year of operation. Hiring well experienced, qualified and dedicated teachers in English, is a challenge we have successfully handled from the beginning. In the current academic year 2024/2025, we opened classes for High School for boys and girls, as A & B. In our very popular Kindergarten, we operate additional classes apart from A & B as deem necessary based on student enrollment. Maximum number of seats in a class room shall not exceed fifteen. Offering an English curriculum in following Cambridge International syllabus for all grades, we have enhanced the level of English language of our students remarkably.
Challenges that are facing the school system in Aden are enormous. Not only for Aden British International Schools, but the entire spectrum, of education system is currently facing many obstacles, which is beyond the control of individual schools. Procuring text books, reading material for our English library, foreign recruitment of academic staff, travel, security situation, are some of the difficulties the schools are facing in Aden today. Nevertheless, we at ABIS, were successful in recruiting qualified teachers, for Science, Mathematics and English classes for the higher grades. Year after year, we have expanded our English book library, and hope to expand it further in the current academic year.
